Amazon Prime: Is it worth is?

I’m assuming you’ve heard about amazon prime, but maybe you just aren’t sure if it’s worth the price. If you haven’t heard of Amazon, it’s a site you can buy pretty much anything you can think of.  Some cities even have grocery and within an hour or two delivery! I have been a prime member for over 8 years. And joined mainly to receive the free shipping.  But it just keeps getting better as they continue to add valuable services and content.

   the main reason I signed up for prime was because of the free two day shipping, but if you have some extra time, choose the no rush shipping option.  You still get your items shipped within 4-5 days and you receive credits toward other services.  Such as PrimePantry, music & movies.  The promotion now is $5 credit towards your next PrimePantry order.  These credits do expire, so you need to read the fine print.

   I just started using this service and it’s been great for the random pantry items that I get.  I’ve even compared it to other stores and it is cheaper 80% of the time.  Free shipping

7. Music, Movies & More

   Since having kids, this has been great for us to watch old shows, Prime exclusive such as Just Add Magic .  My kids have loved this show.  My youngest loves watching old Thomas the Train videos and Team Umizoomi. It’s great since we don’t have these channels with our cable.  Movies are available as well.  I love the music streaming service too.  We use all of these features with the app and the firestick that acts like the AppleTV & Chromecast but it’s for Amazon. And the music selection is great where you can store your music and browse plenty of playlists available.

8. Subscribe and save

   I started using this after I had my first son.  I saved 20% on baby items, such as diapers, wipes and formula.  I add this to my subscribe and save cart and say how often I want it (1, 2, 3 – 6 months) and it automatically sends it.  You usually get a 5% discount for using this service, but can save up to 15% for having 5 or more deliveries in 1 month.  We use it for vitamins, toilet paper, shampoo, deodorant, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, cat food and more.  I love it because it’s on a schedule (one less thing to remember) and it’s delivered right to my door with free shipping!  And it sends a reminder so I can skip that shipment if I don’t need it.

9. PrimeReading

   Read thousands of books, magazines and more.  If you have a Kindle, you can send any book you order online directly to your kindle without touching your it.  You don’t need a kindle to enjoy Prime Reading.  Use the kindle app for iOS and Android.

10. Prime Photos & Amazon Drive

    Free unlimited photo storage for you and five others. Plus, upgraded search helps you find photos fast.  Also, free file storage with Amazon Drive, similar to Google Drive.

11. Amazon Assistant

    A browser extension that help you compare products and prices while searching and shopping online.  If you’re shopping at another website and amazon assistant recognizes the item, it compares the amazon price to the current page price.  In addition, you can add items to your Wish List from most places on the web.
