We started our Brain Balance journey back in August. Our son was having a really hard time adjusting to school and it was the culmination of years of trying different things to help him. We decided to enroll him in the program at Brain Balance.
We have been doing the at home exercises for 3 months starting on Labor Day 2017 and last month (December 2017) started going to the center 3 x per week. The diet part has not been going very well. We try as best we can, but it’s not going that well. We will continue to work on it everyday.
Our first visit was not that much fan fair, we went in and got out. He was assessed the first visit back to see if he had progressed any. His numbers moved up and down, but only 1 category of significant change. All good signs that things are moving.
The changes we have noticed – Just doing the at home exercises:
- Confidence is much higher (still low) but compared to where it was, it is much better
- He has not had a meltdown since we started doing the at home exercises. I feel like that may be why I feel he’s matured
- He’s a tad more focused on his homework. He still needs to be coaxed and reminded what he needs to do, but he will sit down to do it without being told. Staying on track is a problem.
Overall he’s excited to go. He likes the 1:1 time he gets to spend with my husband and I my husband and I trade nights.
We have missed several due to sickness and snow, but we have a set number of sessions that just get moved back if we can’t use them.
